CEC currently has two major programs that we run for the community as well as for our church. These two programs are the Harvest Festival and the Achieve tutoring and English program. We are looking for volunteers to help with both of these programs. The Harvest Festival needs are concentrated in the weeks/months before October 31 while the Achieve needs will be more year-round.

For the Harvest Festival, we have been blessed by small groups and individuals who have graciously offered their time to create booths, setup tables, schedule jumpers, pick-up cotton candy machines, etc. The Harvest Festival is a safe, fun Halloween alternative for our community as well as for the children of our church. We have received many positive comments from members of the community who have come to the Harvest Festival with their children.

The Achieve program is a way for us to help the children and adults of our local Linda Vista neighborhood by helping them improve their reading, writing, math, science and other skills or to learn English as an adult. We have received a tremendously positive response from the community and the local school administrators. The Achieve program is looking for volunteers to help tutor, teach English, provide refreshments, advertise and get to know people from the community. No experience is necessary, just an openness to meet members of the community and to help them with their real needs. The program runs from 1-2PM on Saturday afternoons.
