CHURCHWIDE

1.      Register for Pioneer Clubs TODAY in the courtyard!  Pre-K through 5th graders are welcome.  Clubs will commence on Friday, 9/5 at 7:30 PM.  Contact Yvette Wu (wuchanyue@aol.com) with any questions or for more information.  2.      Church Directory Update!  Updated contact information and pictures can continue to be submitted through the month of August.  Please fill out an update form in the foyer and/or submit an updated picture (hard copy or digital) to Brandon Yu (mrbrandonyu@gmail.com) by 8/31.  3.      CEC is planning to schedule a two-session Membership Class in the near future.   If you are interested in being a CEC full member or associate member, we encourage you to join the class.  For more information, please contact Garrett Lo (glo@ai-ya.org). 4.      August is “Family Worship” Month.  The children (1st-5th grade) will meet in a large group during 1st hour from 9:15 AM – 10:25 AM.  During the 2nd hour from 10:45 AM – 11:55 AM, the children whose parents are attending the worship will sit as a family in the Cantonese or English Worship.  5.      Office Staff Vacations: Vivien Yu is on vacation through Friday, 8/29.  In her absence, please direct all administrative matters to Ling Kho (lingkho@cec-sd.org); Ling Kho will be on vacation from 8/29-9/9.  In her absence, please direct all English ministry/office matters to Vivien Yu (vivienyu@cec-sd.org).

MISSIONS/OUTREACH OPPORTUNITIES

1.      “A Trashcan Can Make a Difference”: Collection in the foyer for the month of August will go to the Alpha Project, an agency that serves the homeless community.  Items needed: Socks, Shoes, Sunscreen, Twin Sheets, Phone Cards, Sleeping Bags, Bottled Water, Hygiene Items,Undergarments,Pillows & Pillowcases.  Collection for this month ends 8/31. Questions?  Contact: Janet Kwok (joonit.berry@gmail.com). 2.      Samaritan’s Purse “Operation Christmas Child” – If you are interested in participating in our annual “Operation Christmas Child” shoebox project, you can catch the current “back-to-school” sales for school supplies!  It’s never too early to do Christmas shopping!
